DIC reports fall in profits

DIC (Tokyo) reports a 6.5% fall in net profits for its fiscal first half, ended 30 September, compared with the year-ago period, to ¥10.68 billion ($107 million). First-half sales increased 10%, to ¥384.95 billion. Operating profits, bolstered by sales-price revisions, rationalization measures, and the weaker Japanese currency, increased 22.3%, to ¥22.8 billion, DIC says.
