DIC buys out Hitachi Chemical in unsaturated polyester resins JV

DIC Corp. (Tokyo) and Hitachi Chemical (Tokyo) say that DIC will acquire Hitachi Chemical’s 50% stake in their DH Material (Tokyo) joint venture, and as a result, DH Material will become a wholly owned subsidiary of DIC starting 1 October 2013. DH Material was established as a 50-50 jv in 2005 to handle the two companies’ unsaturated polyester resins and vinyl ester resins manufacturing, sales, and research and development activities in Japan.
