DIC Posts Huge Rise in Earnings

DIC Corp. recorded more than a six-fold rise in net profits for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011, compared with the previous fiscal year, to ¥15.8 billion ($195 million). Sales increased 2.8%, to ¥779 billion, mainly as a result of rising demand in Asia, particularly China, which countered the appreciation of the Japanese currency, and flagging demand for printing inks in the developed countries, DIC says.
