Regions :: North Asia :: Japan Arkema to Sell SAP Unit10:50 AM MDT | March 18, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Arkema says it has agreed to sell its superabsorbent polymer (SAP) business to Sumitomo Seika (Osaka, Japan), for an undisclosed sum. Arkema says it produces 15,000 m.t./year of SAP at Carling, France; and its business generates sales of about €20 million ($31 million)/year. Arkema says it will toll manufacture SAP at the Carling site. The deal also includes a long-term contract for the supply of acrylic acid produced at Carling, Arkema says.
