CB&I awarded technology, engineering contract for coal-to-chemicals plant in China

CB&I has been awarded a contract by Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group (Beijing) for the license and engineering design of a grassroots petrochemicals complex to be built at Lingwu, Yinchuan City, in China's autonomous region of Ningxia, CB&I announced today. The complex will use CB&I's proprietary olefins conversion technology (OCT) to produce 196,000 m.t./year of polymer-grade propylene and its comonomer production technology to produce and recover 20,000 m.t./year of comonomer-grade 1-butene, the company says.
