APIC 2013: Asia is fastest-growing specialty chemicals market, IHS Chemical says

Asia will continue to be the largest consumer of specialty chemicals, delegates were told at the 2013 Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference, now taking place at Taipei, Taiwan. In his presentation, "Specialty chemicals, will they remain special?" Masahiro Yoneyama, senior director/Japan at IHS Chemical said that in 2012 specialty chemicals accounted for 15% of global chemical sales, of $3.3 trillion, and the global market will grow on average at 3.7%/year in the next 5 years. China, at 19%, of $498 billion sales, was the largest market in Asia...
