Chinese firm selects GE's coal-gasification technology for refinery expansion

Lihuayi Group (Dongying, China) has selected General Electric’s (GE) advanced coal-gasification technology to help increase refinery hydrogen production at the Lijin refinery near Dongying, GE has announced. GE’s technology will enable the Lijin refinery to produce more hydrogen to improve the quality of its petroleum products. The Lijin refinery earlier installed GE’s proprietary coal-gasification technology for its existing operations, enabling the facility to produce synthesis gas (syngas) for oxo-aldehyde production.
