US, China reach different decisions on SI Group trade secrets case

Authorities in the US and China have reached different decisions SI Group’s trade secrets complaint regarding its rubber tackifying resin, or tackifier, product. A judge affiliated with the US International Trade Commission (ITC; Washington) determined that Sino Legend Chemical (Zhangjiagang, China) and its US affiliate, Red Avenue (Rochester, NY), had stolen trade secrets in tackifiers from SI Group. A court in Shanghai, meanwhile, ruled in favor of Sino Legend, saying that the trade secret theft claims “have no factual or legal basis.” The ITC...
