Toray buys stake in US carbon fiber–reinforced plastics parts manufacturer

Toray Industries says it has acquired a 20% stake in Plasan Carbon Composites (PCC; Wixom, MI), a manufacturer and distributor of auto parts based on carbon fiber–reinforced plastics (CFRP), to globally expand the company’s carbon fiber composite material business in the automotive field. Financial details of the deal and PCC’s annual sales have not been disclosed.
