Solvay completes acquisition of Plextronics

Solvay says it has completed the acquisition of Plextronics (Pittsburgh), to bolster its organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) electronic display technology and launch a new development platform with a strong Asian foothold. Solvay had been a shareholder in Plextronics. The completion comes two weeks after the US bankruptcy court in Delaware approved Solvay's offer for Plextronics, a start-up that was founded in 2002.
