Sasol signs MOU to sell Iranian asset, outlines configuration of US petchem complex

Sasol (Johannesburg) in its trading update on Friday said that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with an undisclosed party to sell its share in Arya Sasol Polymer Co. (ASPC), a joint venture with the local Pars Petrochemical to operating an ethylene plant and two polyethylene (PE) production facilities at Assaluyeh, Iran. Sasol’s CFO, Christine Ramon, said that the divestment process is slower than initially anticipated but “with effect from 28 February 2013, the investment is classified as a disposal group held for sale.” The...
