Sabic plans efficiency investments at Mount Vernon site

Sabic's Innovative Plastics business announced today that it is making two investments at its Mount Vernon, IN site to “increase the business’ global competitiveness and sustainability by enhancing the reliability and efficiency of production,” the company says. Capital costs were not disclosed. The first investment is for a cogeneration facility that will use natural gas to create a majority of steam for the site—which currently uses coal boilers for 40% of the power.
