SAFC to Expand Niche Biologics

Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemicals (SAFC) says it will invest $12 million to expand it niche biologics facility at Carlsbad, CA. The company will add two, new, state-of-the-art viral product manufacturing suites, which will enable 100-liter batch production in stirred tank bioreactors and 1,000-liter batch manufacturing in disposable bioreactors.
