SAE to reassess safety of HFC replacement

SAE International (Warrendale, PA), a global group that sets voluntary technical standards for the automotive sector, says it is conducting an updated engineering review of the refrigerant R-1234yf for use in automobile air-conditioning systems. SAE’s initial review was completed in 2009 and found R-1234yf is a safe and acceptable refrigerant.
