Renewable chemicals firm Genomatica names nylon intermediates HMD, caprolactam, and adipic acid as its next commercial targets

Renewable chemicals firm Genomatica (San Diego) announced on 5 August that it will target major nylon intermediates—including hexamethylenediamine (HMD), caprolactam, and adipic acid—to its list of publicly disclosed development programs. Genomatica says it is developing complete process technologies for the biobased production of these intermediates, which it will then license to major firms in the nylon value chain.
