OxyChem's Earnings Soar on Improved Margins and Higher Volumes

OxyChem, the chemicals business of Occidental Petroleum, reported third-quarter net income of $189 million, up nearly 163% from the year-ago period on improved margins and volumes in the chlor-alkali and vinyls markets. Sale rose about 25%, to $1.05 billion.
