Nanosys expands quantum dot facility

Nanosys, a Palo Alto, CA-based company developing quantum-dot-enabled technologies for the display and energy storage markets, says it has expanded into a new, high-capacity production facility at Milpitas, CA. The 60,000 square foot facility will produce over 1,000 kilograms of quantum dots annually, enough material to build more than five million 55" quantum dot televisions. Nanosys expects the expansion to to create more than 50 jobs. A quantum dot is 10,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair and can emit light at a very precise wavelength. The...
