LG Chem acquires NanoH2O for $200 million

LG Chem (Seoul), in today’s filing to the Korea Exchange (Seoul), says that it has decided to buy NanoH2O (El Segundo, CA) for $200 million. The acquisition has been approved by LG Chem’s board. NanoH2O specializes in the development and manufacture of reverse osmosis membranes for the desalination industry. With this transaction, LG Chem will be able to move into the market for desalination currently dominated by US and Japanese firms, the company says.
