Kuraray to expand PVOH film capacity at Portage, IN

Kuraray says that its wholly owned MonoSol (Merrillville, IN) subsidiary will expand production capacity for polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) film at its Portage, IN, manufacturing site. A PVOH film production plant will be built at the site to meet increasing demand, particularly in North America and Europe, for PVOH film for industrial applications, Kuraray says. The expansion will involve an investment of $25 million in the initial phase and is expected to be completed in January 2016. Kuraray acquired PVOH film producer MonoSol in 2012.
