Adjusted earnings fell as well—down 77%, to $13.2 million. Earnings were hurt by the impact of first in, first out accounting as butadiene prices fell sharply in the quarter. Sales decreased 15%, to $342 million, mostly because of decreases in average selling prices of $36.2 million related to declines in raw material costs—primarily butadiene—and the negative impact from foreign currency exchange rates...
