Evonik hikes specialty methacrylates capacity at Mobile

Evonik Corp. said on Wednesday that it will expand significantly the specialty methacrylate monomer capacity at its Mobile, AL facility. The methyl methacrylate transesterification (MMAT) plant, part of Evonik’s performance polymers business and acrylic monomers line, will begin the multi-million dollar expansion immediately, the company says. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
