Elementis acquires coatings additives firm Hi-Mar Specialty Chemicals

Elementis Specialties has agreed to purchase the assets of Hi-Mar Specialty Chemicals (Milwaukee), a coatings additives company, for $33 million in cash. Hi-Mar, formerly a Hickson Specialty Chemicals' business, was established in 1973 and is a leading supplier of defoamers to the coatings, construction, and oil field drilling industries, with manufacturing and technical facilities based in Milwaukee. The acquisition of Hi-Mar will further expand Elementis’s product and technical service offering in these high-value segments, the company says.  ...
