Ecolab earnings slightly miss estimates, sales rise

Ecolab today reported net income up 24% year-on-year (YOY), to $287.1 million, or 93 cts/share, on sales up 17%, to $3.56 billion. Excluding special charges, adjusted net income totaled $318.4 million, or $1.04/share, up 20% YOY, but slightly short of analysts’ consensus estimate of $1.05/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York). Global industrial segment sales rose 4% YOY, to $1.28 billion, while segment operating income was up 5%, to $182 million. Sales grew in all regions, with Asia and Latin America showing the strongest growth, Ecolab says...
