Regions :: North America :: U.S. Chemicals sector rail traffic rises 3%4:24 PM MST | March 7, 2013 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 3% year-on-year (YOY), to 45,361 cars during the week ended 2 March, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 2.9%, to 31,360 cars. Canadian traffic was up 17.9%, to 12,324 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 31.3%, to 1,677 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 1.8% YOY during the week ended 2 March, to 379,917 cars, AAR says.
