Chemicals sector rail traffic declines 0.1%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 0.1% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 20 April, to 44,392 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 4.1%, to 29,598 cars. Canadian traffic rose 9.2%, to 13,388 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 6.6%, to 1,406 cars.   Overall, North American freight rail traffic fell 1.1% during the week ended 20 April, to 375,309 cars, AAR says. Year-to-date, the North American chemicals sector has generated 686,092 cars of rail traffic, up 2% from 2012...
