Cereplast creates algae bioplastics subsidiary Algaeplast

Cereplast, a manufacturer of biobased plastics, has created a new subsidiary, Algaeplast, to focus on development and manufacturing of algae-based plastics. Cereplast announced plans to develop a bioplastic made from 50% algae biocontent in 2009, and says its ultimate goal is to reach and market polymers made from 100% algae content.
