BASF Buys Biological Seed Treatment Firm for $1 Billion

BASF says it plans to acquire biological seed treatment maker Becker Underwood (Ames, IA) from Norwest Equity Partners, for €785 million ($1.02 billion). Becker is expected to achieve sales of $240 million for fiscal-year 2012, ending September 30.
