Arkema Closes MBS Modifiers Unit

Arkema says it will cease methacrylic-butadiene-styrene (MBS) impact modifier production at Axis, AL and consolidate its global MBS production at its Vlissingen, the Netherlands plant. Arkema says it will supply MBS modifiers to customers in the Americas from its Vissingen plant during the next few months. The move is expected to yield cost savings of about €3.2 million ($5 million) during the first year, Arkema says. The Axis plant will continue to produce acrylic impact modifiers and acrylic process...
