AkzoNobel Hikes Capacity at Texas Facility, to Meet LED Demand

AkzoNobel says it is investing to increase production capacity at its Battleground, TX, facility to meet growing demand from producers of light-emitting diodes (LED), to supply the semiconductor industry. The investment includes an extension of the site's trimethylaluminum (TMA) unit, and the construction of a new trimethylgallium (TMG) plant. The investment will make AkzoNobel's Battleground facility the largest of its type, the company says.
