ACC's U.S. Production Index Falls in August

ACC’s U.S. Chemical Production Regional Index slipped 0.2% in August, with production declining in all regions except the Gulf Coast, which rose, and the Ohio Valley, which was flat. The decline follows a revised 0.5% decline for July. The index is based on a three-month moving average of information provided by the Federal Reserve. Overall U.S. manufacturing output was flat in August, following a downwardly revised 0.1% gain in July—but individual components of the index were mixed.
