Regions :: North America :: Mexico Rail Traffic Rises 16.5%4:55 PM MDT | April 8, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 16.5% year-on-year last week, to 43,875 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR). U.S. traffic was up 11.5%, to 28,776 cars. Canadian traffic rose 26.6%, to 13,874 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 38.3%, to 1,225 cars. Traffic on the continent as a whole rose from the prior week's totals, though Canadian traffic fell. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 11.2% last week, to 372,270 cars.
