Regions :: North America :: Mexico North American Railcar Loadings Down for Week Ended August 29, 20092:04 PM MDT | September 3, 2009 | Vincent Valk Chemical railcar loadings in North America declined 10.6% for the week ended August 29, to 42,276 carloads, according to the Association of American Railroads. U.S. loadings were down 13.4% in the same week, to 29,251 carloads. Both figures, however, represented small increases from last week's totals, which were 41,441 carloads for North America, and 27,530 carloads of the U.S. Loadings in Canada totaled 12,811 carloads last week, a 7.1% drop from 2008, while Mexican loadings totaled 1,214 carloads, 42.2% increase, according to AAR figures.
