Mexichem to Acquire Fluorita de Mexico

Mexichem (Tlalnepantla, Mexico) says it will acquire fluorspar producer Fluorita de Mexico (Mexico City). Terms were not disclosed. Mexichem says it has received approval from the Mexican antitrust commission for the acquisition. With this acquisition, Mexichem will have access to fluorspar of the highest purity grade worldwide, the company says. The acquisition is part of a series of investments to produce next-generation refrigerants, which are more eco-friendly, Mexichem says.
