Mexichem reports lower earnings, to benefit from antidumping ruling against Chinese refrigerant gas producers

Mexichem has reported a 52% decrease in second-quarter net earnings, $50 million, hurt by foreign exchange and higher amortization following acquisitions. Net income from continuing operations was $53 million compared with $111 million in the second quarter of 2013. Sales were up 7%, to $1.5 billion, driven by positive performance of the resins, compounds and derivatives, and integral solutions operations. Ebitda was down 5%, to $257 million.
