Mexichem expects VCM venture with Pemex to launch in third quarter, posts 48% net profit fall

Mexichem's (Tlalnepantla, Mexico) previously announced vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) joint venture with Pemex (Mexico City) is expected to start operating during the third quarter, Mexichem has announced. The jv will supply part of the VCM required by Mexichem for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production and allow for a full backward integration of the chlor-vinyl chain, the company says. The jv will take over Pemex's existing VCM production at Pajaritos, in the state of Veracruz, Mexico. Mexichem, once the jv is up and running, will start investing to expand...
