Mexican Petroleum Institute completes basic engineering study for Pemex EO expansion

The Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP; Mexico City), has completed a basic engineering study requested by the petrochemicals subsidiary of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex; Mexico City) for the second phase of expansion at the Morelos petrochemical complex at Coatzacoalcos, Mexico, IMP says. The expansion is expected to boost the site's ethylene oxide (EO) capacity from 280,000 m.t./year to 360,000 m.t./year, IMP adds.
