Chemicals sector rail traffic up 1.7%

North American chemicals sector rail traffic rose 1.7% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 23 March, to 43,588 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic fell 0.9%, to 30,460 cars. Canadian traffic was up 9.2%, to 11,884 cars, while Mexican traffic declined 1.7%, to 1,244 cars.
