Regions :: North America :: Mexico Chemicals sector rail traffic rises 4.9%4:29 PM MST | January 24, 2013 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 4.9% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 19 January, to 42,102 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 0.3%, to 29,970 cars. Canadian traffic rose 20.1%, to 10,753 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 21.5%, to 1,379 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week’s totals, though it rose in the US and Mexico.
