Chemicals sector rail traffic rises 1.2%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 1.2% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 28 September, to 43,280 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 1.3%, to 30,693 cars. Canadian traffic rose 10.6%, to 11,344 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 12%, to 1,243 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week’s totals.
