Chemicals sector rail traffic falls 1.3%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America declined 1.3% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 27 July, to 40,948 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 3.3%, to 29,262 cars. Canadian traffic increased 4.3%, to 10,408 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 1.3%, to 1,278 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week’s totals.
