Chemicals sector rail traffic declines 4.1%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 4.1% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 15 February, to 41,369 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic was down 2.6%, to 29,183 cars. Canadian traffic declined 8.6%, to 10,864 cars, while Mexican traffic increased 1.6%, to 1,322 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week’s totals, though it rose in Canada and Mexico.
