Chemicals sector rail traffic declines 3.6%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 3.6% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended 22 February, to 41,648 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). US traffic declined 0.5%, to 29,859 cars. Canadian traffic was down 10.7%, to 10,416 cars, while Mexican traffic fell 10.3%, to 1,373 cars. Traffic rose from the prior week’s totals.
