Regions :: North America :: Mexico Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 6.4%4:09 PM MDT | March 17, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 6.4% year-on-year last week, to 42,782 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported today. U.S. traffic was up 6%, to 30,635 cars. Canadian traffic rose 5.5%, to 11,739 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 24.5%, to 1,408 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 0.8%, to 379,242 cars. Year-to-date the North American chemicals sector has generated 428,900 cars of rail traffic, up 6.3% from 2010...
