Regions :: North America :: Mexico Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 18.9%11:09 AM MDT | April 8, 2011 | Vincent Valk North American chemicals sector rail traffic rose 18.9% year-on-year last week, to 47,904 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was up 14.9%, to 33,038 cars. Canadian traffic rose 31.6%, to 13,647 cars, while Mexican traffic was up 6.6%, to 1,219 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 7.7% year-on-year last week, to 399,971 cars.
