Regions :: North America :: Mexico Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Rises 13.5%4:37 PM MST | December 16, 2010 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America rose 13.5% year-on-year last week, to 45,077 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported yesterday. U.S. traffic was up 10.3%, to 28,396 cars. Canadian traffic rose 21.6%, to 15,635 cars cars, while Mexican traffic fell 5.9% to 1,046 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals. Overall, North American freight rail traffic rose 10.2% year-on-year last week, to 374,368 cars.
