Regions :: North America :: Mexico Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls2:19 PM MDT | April 28, 2011 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 1.8% year-on-year last week, to 41,769 cars, the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington) reported today. It was the first notable year-on-year decline for sector rail traffic since late 2009. U.S. traffic was down 4.4%, to 29,276 cars. Canadian traffic rose 3.9%, to 11,214 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 16.8%, to 1,279 cars. Traffic also fell from the prior week's totals.
