Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls Due to Holiday

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 2.7% year-on-year last week, to 39,575 cars, the Association of American Railroads reported. However, the same week in 2009 did not include in the Independence Day holiday in the U.S. Traffic in the U.S. fell 5.5%, to 25,852 cars. Canadian traffic rose 4.6%, to 12,701 cars, while Mexican traffic declined 12%, to 1,022 cars. Traffic fell from the prior week's totals.
