Regions :: North America :: Mexico Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 2.4%10:42 AM MDT | September 7, 2012 | Vincent Valk Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America declined 2.4% year-on-year (YOY) during the week ended September 1, to 41,113 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 1.7%, to 29,635 cars. Canadian traffic fell 5.2%, to 10,162 cars, while Mexican traffic rose 2.3%, to 1,316 cars. Overall, North American freight rail traffic fell 2.5% YOY during the week ended September 1, to 386,964 cars, AAR says.
