Chemicals Sector Rail Traffic Falls 14.5%

Chemicals sector rail traffic in North America fell 14.5% year-on-year for the week ended January 7, to 36,176 cars, according to the Association of American Railroads (AAR; Washington). U.S. traffic was down 10.6%, to 26,935 cars. Canadian traffic fell 25%, to 8,410 cars, while Mexican traffic was down 15%, to 831 cars.
