Alpek's third-quarter net income falls 48%

Alpek (San Pedro Garza García, Mexico), a subsidiary of Grupo Alfa (Monterrey, Mexico), reported a consolidated net income of 725 million Mexican pesos ($56 million) for the third quarter of 2013, down close to 48% from the pesos1.39 billion reported during the same quarter in 2012. Ebitda shrank by 17% year-on-year (YOY) and sales fell to pesos23.21 billion during the third quarter, about 2.5% below the level reported during the third quarter last year, the company says.
